Domaine Garon

France – Côte Rotie

“Our wish is to offer wines that best reflect our terroirs, our history, our region unlike any other. Respect for the delicacy of the fruit, finesse and balance for our Syrahs. Accuracy, generosity and tradition for our white wines. Hoping to bring to each person who tastes a wine from our estate, an emotion, a memory, pleasure! ”

This is the philosophy of Domaine Garon which, according to Jeb Dunnuck, is now one of the top names in the Côte-Rotie appellation as he declared in 2020: “While quality was reliable in the 2000s, since 2010, everything appears to have been on a steady upward trajectory, with the 2015 being the finest wines I’ve tasted from the estate, and magical wines produced in both 2017 and 2018. Lovers of pure, classical Côte Rôtie need to get on this estate’s bandwagon ASAP! ”

The Domaine’s faithful is convinced of this too!

The range is not limited to the 4 cuvées of Côte Rotie (Blonde or Brune area). Whether for the Côtes du Rhône, the Syrah IGP, the 2 cuvées de Viognier or the 2 St Josephs (white and red), the same care is given to the entire range.

At the same time, the estate is now fully committed to more sustainable agriculture that respects the environment. A new cellar and new cuvées planned soon demonstrate the domain’s ambition for the future.

Following Jeb Dunnuck, a new laudatory article in the latest issue of Decanter (March 2023), the prestigious magazine dedicated to wine and distributed in more than 90 countries.
Matt Walls (Decanter) :
“It might be small and understated, but with quality increasing each year Matt Walls says it’s only a matter of time before this domaine becomes a household name.”
“The quality across the board has been gradually increasing over the past few years, which is what prompted my visit. Their 2021s are surprisingly strong for such a challenging year. Though their style is their own, if forced to compare I’d place them somewhere between Ogier, Barge and Jasmin.
The wines, when tasted, speak first and foremost of their origins – not the hand that made them. The confident but understated approach means this domaine isn’t yet as well-known as some of the starrier names of Côte-Rôtie. But with quality like this, it’s only a matter of time.”
